Welcome to Australian Road Safety Week, an annual event dedicated to raising awareness about road safety and promoting safer driving practices across the nation.
With millions of vehicles on the road every day, ensuring the safety of all road users is paramount. Australian Road Safety Week serves as a reminder for drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists to prioritize safety and take responsibility for their actions on the road. By fostering a culture of respect, attentiveness, and adherence to road rules, we can work together to create safer roads for everyone.
Let's amplify our efforts during Australian Road Safety Week by making some real noise!

Welcome to myDRIVESCHOOL®, where we harness technology to make road safety education more fun, more effective and accessible for all. This National Road Safety Week, we reflect on a pressing concern: the recent statistics from the Australian Road Safety Foundation report 109 lives tragically lost last month, signalling an urgent call for action. At myDRIVESCHOOL®, we're dedicated to changing these statistics through innovative simulation training that prepares drivers for real-life challenges on the road.
At myDRIVESCHOOL®, we are pioneering a technology-driven approach to driving education that not only teaches but transforms. Our simulations prepare drivers for unexpected scenarios, such as wildlife encounters, which are common during dusk and dawn — times when visibility is low and risks are high. Last year, nearly 7,000 eastern grey kangaroos were involved in collisions in Victoria, making up 65% of all wildlife incidents. By simulating hazardous situations, myDRIVESCHOOL® enables learners to practice safe and effective response strategies in a risk-free environment.
Impact Statistics: "Evidence-Driven Results"
- Driver Error Reduction: Simulation training has shown a significant decrease in accidents caused by novice driver errors, addressing over 90% of road fatalities in the first three (3) years of driving.
- Inclusive Education: the myDRIVESCHOOL® platform is designed to be accessible to all, including autistic learners and those with disabilities, ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to learn in a way that suits their needs best.
- Global Comparisons: Despite advancements, Australia still ranks 18th in the OECD for road fatalities. Our technology is set to improve this standing by providing superior training tools.
Looking ahead, myDRIVESCHOOL® is expanding its technological offerings with the launch of our Stage 2 program in July all about distractions and hazards, and training for scenarios too dangerous to train for in real life. We want to these programs to be accessible in public libraries and through local council initiatives. This aligns with governmental efforts to improve infrastructure, advocating for a holistic approach to road safety.
Support road safety by exploring what myDRIVESCHOOL®, has to offer. Visit our website for simulation demos, free trial sessions, and to learn how our training can make a difference. Your participation can help drive change and ensure safer roads for everyone.
We value your feedback on making myDRIVESCHOOL®, resources more accessible through community spaces. Please take a moment to fill out our survey [link to survey] to help us understand your needs and how we can better serve our community.
"We believe that technology can and should serve everyone, and it's our mission to ensure that every new driver is equipped not just to pass a test, but to face every road scenario confidently and competently." We want kids to make their mistakes online NOT on-road.
Elevating Driver Education: The Power of Simulation Technology
By Cecilia Rago
In the fast-evolving landscape of driver education, MyDriveSchool is pioneering a shift to simulation-based training—a safer, more effective method to prepare today's drivers for tomorrow's roads.
The digital era has transformed countless industries, and driver education is no exception. At MyDriveSchool, we've spearheaded the integration of simulation technology to redefine how driving skills are taught and mastered. This technology not only simulates a variety of driving conditions but also provides immediate feedback, a crucial component for rapid learning and adaptation.
Simulation-based training stands at the forefront of educational innovation, offering a dynamic learning environment that traditional methods cannot match. Learners engage with real-time scenarios requiring quick decisions that mirror actual driving situations, from navigating busy urban streets to reacting to sudden road hazards.
This method has proven particularly effective in enhancing driver safety, significantly reducing the risk associated with novice drivers—the demographic most vulnerable to accidents. By training in a risk-free virtual environment, new drivers gain confidence and competence without the real-world consequences.
As we continue to refine and expand our simulation offerings, MyDriveSchool remains committed to setting new safety standards, ensuring that every new driver is not only licensed but genuinely road-ready.

Inclusive Behind the Wheel: MyDriveSchool’s Commitment to Accessible Education
By Cecilia Rago
MyDriveSchool is breaking down barriers in driver education, ensuring that learning to drive is a possibility for everyone, regardless of physical ability or learning style.
Driving is a critical skill, offering independence and mobility. At MyDriveSchool, we believe this opportunity should be accessible to everyone, which is why we’ve developed a training program that accommodates learners of all abilities.
Our simulation-based training is carefully designed with input from experts in disability and educational psychology, ensuring it supports a wide range of learners, including those with sensory sensitivities or cognitive challenges. This inclusivity not only fosters broader community engagement but also enriches the learning experience for all students.
By facilitating an environment where mistakes are part of the learning curve rather than a cause for anxiety, we empower learners to experiment, adapt, and succeed. This approach has been instrumental in helping individuals with disabilities and learning differences gain both the skills and confidence to drive safely.
Our commitment to inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do at MyDriveSchool. We continue to innovate and adapt, driven by the conviction that everyone deserves the freedom and safety that quality driver education provides.
